Pattaya Beach, Thailand

ThailandPattaya is a beautiful city in Thailand, on the eastern coast of the Gulf of Thailand, and is about 165 kilometers from Bangkok. It's the second most visited city in Thailand next to Bangkok.

This self governing, municipal location includes the entire Nog Prue area, Na Kluea, and also some parts of Huai Yai and Nog Pla Lai. Although well known for its industrial seaboard zone, it has maintained popularity among tourists because of its beautiful location on water, and for the wonderful tourists attractions available in the area, including it's tropical climate that fluctuates between wet and dry and is split up into warm and dry seasons, which is from November to February and is a warm and dry season, hot and humid weather from March to May, and hot and rainy weather between the months of June and October. All year long though, the average high temperature for the entire year is about 88 degrees, and its low is 76 degrees, making it a comfortable visit anytime.

This coastal city offers two main beaches, Pattaya Beach and Jomiten Beach. Pattaya Beach is situated parallel to the city's center, and along Pattaya Beach's road there are plenty of restaurants, attractions to enjoy during both the day and night, and plenty of shopping. Jomiten Beach is in the southern region of the bay, and is separated from Pattaya Beach by Pratumnak Hill. Jomiten Beach is home to many high rise condos, beach front hotels, neighborhoods of bungalows, and plenty of shops and restaurants, as well as bars for those who stay in the area and seek some night life. It becomes quite busy on the weekends, and it has its share of visitors mostly from Bangkok, who regularly frequent the many water sport activities available, such as jet skiing, parasailing, and renting small sail boats.

There are some islands offshore regularly visited. The "Near Islands", consisting of Ko Sak and Ko Krok are located on the western shores of Pattaya. There are a plethora of off shore islands that are easily accessible in around 15 minutes by speedboats, and once visitors arrive, they enjoy the beautiful public beaches and have a wealth of scuba diving activities to take part in.

Pattaya has been mainly known as a fishing town, and one of its most popular activities include golf, and there 21 golf courses located within just an hour of the main city. Other popular attractions include go-kart racing, or visiting the different theme parks and zoos in what's called the "Elephant Village." At the "Elephant Village", ancient ceremony re-enactments are performed on a daily basis, including demos of training methods. A private zoo, the Sri Racha Tiger Zoo, is located in this area as well, featuring not only tigers but a variety of other animals. Perhaps the one of the most entertaining things to visit is the Vimantaitalay tourist submarine, which takes passengers underwater to explore sea and marine life, as well as the breathtaking corals that are located just a few kilometers from the shore. At the Nong Nooch Toprical Botanical Garden about 15 kilometers outside of Pattaya is a collection of botanical gardens spread out over 500 acres, where you can enjoy an orchid nursery and live shows featuring traininged chimpanzee monkeys and elephants.

Pattaya is a beautiful city for anyone to visit, but is especially attractive for those who enjoy outdoor activities, beautiful oceanfronts, and a nice collection of nightlife as well.
